My work focuses on depicting the human body in different ways by morphing them with other living creatures. My goal is to bring my humanoid creatures to life on paper and show my audience what my imagination looks like. I dedicate hours of work to create these humanoids by using graphite on paper and various blending tools such as, old makeup brushes, blending stumps, and cotton swabs. I take the time to carefully study the anatomy of the human body and the anatomy of the creatures I combine them with. I then begin to sketch out my ideas in my sketchbook or on my IPad in order for me to get a better perspective of how I want to execute my drawing. My inspiration comes from artists such as Francis Bacon, Frida Khalo, and Salvador Dali. Although each of these artists have their own unique style, I appreciate the different elements and techniques they use in their artwork. My other influences come from Sci-Fi and horror films. From The Fifth Element to Slither, I find different human-like creatures and monsters fascinating.
